seminar entitled «Modern trends in the field of food drying»

Food Industries Department organized a seminar entitled: "Modern trends in the field of food drying" on Monday, April 24, 2017 under the supervision of the sector of Community Service and Environmental Development, Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University.

The seminar was facilitated by Assoc. Prof. Sabah Munir, Associate Professor of Food Industries, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University. The seminar covered many topics including:

  • Modern methods of drying and the advantages and disadvantages of each method.
  • Theoretical and practical basis of the drying by Instant Controlled Pressure Drop (DIC) method.
  • The benefits of DIC drying method for energy saving and enhancing the physical and nutritional qualities of the DIC-dried foods.
  • The application feasibility of the DIC drying method at laboratory and commercial scales.
