Faculty of Agriculture Marks International Day of Plant Health with FA Model Student Participation
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance environmental awareness among its students, the Faculty of Agriculture at Mansoura University celebrated the International Day of Plant Health by organizing an interactive awareness event on Monday, May 12, 2025. The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ali Shata, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Metwally Abu Sarea, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amr Ahmed Gabr, Director of the Innovation Support Office and Supervisor of the Food and Agriculture Model (FA MODEL), with organization led by student Walaa Alaa Awad, President of the model.
The event was part of the activities of the Innovation Support and Scientific Research Office and was organized by students who are members of the FA Model. It aimed to raise student awareness of the importance of plant health, its role in environmental protection and food security, and to highlight the vital link between scientific innovation and sustainable agricultural practices.
As a practical initiative, nearly 200 plant seedlings were distributed free of charge to participants, in an effort to promote awareness of the importance of vegetation cover. Participation certificates were also awarded to students in appreciation of their engagement.
