President of Mansoura University Inspects Construction Projects at the Faculty of Agriculture
As part of the on-site follow-up of development projects at Mansoura University, Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and the University’s Engineering Advisor, inspected a number of ongoing construction projects at the Faculty of Agriculture to monitor progress within the university’s investment plan.
The inspection was attended by Mr. Saad Abdel-Wahab, University Secretary General, Prof. Dr. Sherif Masoud, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Chairman of the Board of the Center for Engineering Studies and Consultations, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ali Shatta, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Waleed Omar Nassar, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Saleh Saada, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Mr. Medhat Ismail, Faculty Secretary, project managers, and representatives of the executing companies.
During the tour, Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater emphasized that the Faculty of Agriculture is one of the leading faculties given high priority in the university’s plan to develop educational and research infrastructure. He noted that the new projects are part of the university’s vision to transform into a fully smart university in line with the objectives of Egypt’s Vision 2030 for Higher Education.
The University President stressed the importance of adhering to project timelines, accelerating work progress, ensuring high-quality execution, and compliance with specifications. He added that developing the Faculty of Agriculture represents an investment in the university’s agricultural and research future, contributing to the preparation of distinguished graduates capable of meeting the demands of the modern agricultural labor market.
The tour began with the inspection of the G Building project at the Faculty of Agriculture, a central student services building constructed on an area of 1,250 square meters with seven floors. The building includes four lecture halls, 12 classrooms, 12 research and student laboratories, and a central exam hall, designed to meet the increasing needs of students and provide a modern learning environment that keeps pace with scientific developments in various agricultural fields.
The President also inspected the B Building Rehabilitation Project, which involves renovating the building across three floors with a total area of 1,100 square meters, ahead of its operation at the beginning of the second semester. The building includes three classrooms and one student laboratory for the Department of Horticulture on the first floor, five classrooms and three laboratories for the Department of Agricultural Chemistry on the second floor, and three classrooms and three laboratories for the Department of Soil and Water on the third floor, in addition to renovating and upgrading the east and west staircases.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim stated that the Faculty of Agriculture projects represent a qualitative leap in the development of academic and research facilities, noting that the university applies the latest technical and engineering standards at all stages of implementation in line with environmental sustainability and smart design standards.
He also highlighted that continuous cooperation between the Faculty of Agriculture and the Center for Engineering Studies and Consultations enhances execution efficiency and speed of completion, ensuring that these projects contribute to improving the quality of educational and research services provided to students and faculty members, and create a distinguished university environment that reflects the prestige and leadership of the Faculty of Agriculture.
