Mansoura University Honors Two Faculty Members of the Faculty of Agriculture on the 16th Science Day
Mansoura University held the 16th Science Day celebration on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the University Administration Building, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, and in the presence of His Eminence Prof. Dr. Nazeer Mohamed Ayad, Grand Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Major General Tarek Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, along with several university presidents and executive and academic leaders.
The celebration witnessed the honoring of 77 scientists, faculty members, and assistant staff who received various national awards, including the Nile, State Appreciation, Encouragement, and Women’s Awards, as well as the university’s appreciation and encouragement awards for academic excellence, recipients of the Doctor of Science degree, top research theses, external research awards, and the best academic departments.
From the Faculty of Agriculture – Mansoura University, the event was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ali Shata, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Waleed Nassar, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Heba Ibrahim Abdel Salam, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit.
During the celebration, the university honored two distinguished faculty members from the Faculty of Agriculture for their academic and research achievements: Prof. Dr. Waleed Mahmoud El-Sharoud, Director of the Synthetic Biology Lab, in recognition of the lab’s excellence featured in Nature Middle East, and Dr. Mohamed Nasser Rizk, for receiving the University Award for the Best Doctoral Thesis of 2025.
This recognition reflects Mansoura University’s commitment to supporting academic excellence, encouraging innovative researchers, and consolidating its position as a leading academic institution in education, research, and community service.
