The Faculty of Agriculture at Mansoura University held its annual scientific conference for the academic year 2024/2025 on Thursday, November 27, 2025, under the title “Achievements – Challenges – and Future Prospects”. The event was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ali Shatta, Dean of the Faculty, and attended by Prof. Dr. Saleh Saada, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Dr. Metwally Abou Srea, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Dr. Walid Nassar, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, alongside a distinguished group of faculty members, staff, and students.

The conference began with verses from the Holy Quran and the playing of the national anthem, followed by official speeches delivered by the faculty vice deans. Each highlighted the main accomplishments of the academic year, the challenges faced by the faculty, and visions for developing the educational and research process while enhancing the faculty’s role in serving the community.

In his speech, the Dean emphasized that the conference reflects the faculty’s commitment to institutional development plans aimed at evaluating performance, analyzing achievements, and setting precise goals for the upcoming phase. He stressed the importance of building on past successes and fostering a culture of innovation and teamwork within the faculty.

As part of the faculty’s dedication to supporting excellence and encouraging promising talents, the Excellence Day celebration was held, one of the faculty’s most prominent annual events. The celebration honored a wide range of academic and research competencies. Dr. Shatta opened the ceremony by expressing pride in the faculty’s accreditation by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, noting that this achievement strengthens the faculty’s position on the map of higher education. In this context, the quality team, led by Prof. Dr. Heba Mohamed Abdelsalam, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit, was honored in recognition of their efforts in achieving this success in collaboration with all faculty members.

The awards continued to include members of permanent and national scientific committees, winners of local and international awards, faculty members who assumed leadership positions outside the faculty, as well as those promoted to the ranks of Professor and Assistant Professor. Newly appointed PhD holders and assistant lecturers who obtained their Master’s degrees were also honored.

The recognition extended to teams demonstrating distinguished institutional performance, researchers awarded research project funding, international students, winners of the Administrative Excellence Competition, and top-performing and exemplary students, in appreciation of their contributions to elevating the faculty’s status.

The day concluded with a touching tribute honoring the late engineer Mohamed Hany Ali Abu El-Fotouh, graduate of the 2024/2025 class, in recognition of his lasting contributions, in the presence of his family, who expressed gratitude for this generous initiative.

Additionally, the committee responsible for evaluating the Administrative Excellence Competition and the organizational committee of the celebration were honored for their efforts in making the event a success.

The faculty administration emphasized at the conclusion of the event that Excellence Day reflects a clear institutional message, demonstrating the Faculty of Agriculture at Mansoura University’s commitment to promoting a culture of creativity and quality, honoring all contributions supporting the academic and research environment, and consolidating the faculty’s position as a leading center in the agricultural sector.
