The Fifth International Food Conference was organized by the Faculty of Agriculture, under the theme Food and Nutrition: Challenges and Innovations

On Monday morning, November 10, 2025, the Fifth International Food Conference (MIFC2025) , organized by the Faculty of Agriculture at Mansoura University under the slogan "Food and Nutrition... Challenges and Innovations," from November 10 to 14 in the cities of Mansoura and Hurghada, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of the University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tarek Mostafa Galoush, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research.

The conference was opened by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ali Shata, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and President of the Conference, in the presence of the faculty's vice deans, a number of faculty members, researchers, and representatives of scientific and industrial institutions, as well as Prof. Dr. Sahar Nasim, Dean of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education.

The conference aims to promote international scientific cooperation and review the latest innovations in the fields of food security, food safety and quality, functional foods, biotechnology, nanotechnology, smart packaging, and artificial intelligence in the food industry.

The opening session honored the members of the organizing committees and a number of figures who support scientific and applied work. Prof. Dr. Walid Mahmoud Al-Sharoud also gave a lecture entitled “Artificial Intelligence for Radical Transformations in the Food Industry,” in which he discussed the latest applications of artificial intelligence in improving product quality and reducing industrial waste.

The first day's events included a research session and scientific poster presentations in the fields of food industries. The events will continue in Hurghada with workshops and scientific sessions discussing food preservation, functional foods, and proper nutrition. The conference will conclude on Thursday with the announcement of the final recommendations.

The conference is a continuation of the role of the Faculty of Agriculture at Mansoura University in supporting scientific research and food innovation and contributing to the achievement of Egypt's Vision 2030 and sustainable development goals.
