Egypt-Jordan Cooperation Program for Scientific Research

The Scientific Research Support Fund (SRSF) of Jordan and Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) of Egypt agreed to co-finance collaborative research projects. The common commitment in promoting collaborative scientific research laid its foundation in June 2014 by signing the MoU on the Establishment of Egyptian-Jordanian Cooperation Program for Scientific Research as well as the joint Jordanian-Egyptian scientific workshop that took place in Amman during the period 21-22 December, 2014. The indicative average funding per country is equivalent to USD 30,000 per team (USD 60,000 per project). Each project will be funded for a period of up to two years. Based on the evaluations of the joint research proposals and consensus discussion between the Parties (ranking of the projects), STDF will fund Egyptian researchers and SRSF will fund Jordanian researchers according to the regulations of each organization.

Applicants must submit their proposals in one of the following areas:

1- New and renewable energy;
2- Energy economics;
3- Water treatment and desalination;
4- Information and telecommunication technologies; and
5- Nanotechnology applications and developments.
