About the unit

The unit works on:

• Assuring quality and continuous development to improve the efficiency of the systems and programs at the Faculty of Agriculture to be in consistent with the Faculty mission and its stated objectives.
• In addition to gaining the community confidence in their graduates based on the application of internationally recognized evaluation mechanisms through an independent and impartial framework.

To achieve an outstanding level of performance in teaching effectiveness, research quality, community serving and developing the environment in accordance with standards of education quality and the requirements of the National Authority of Quality Assurance and Accreditation.

The unit mission

The continuous improvement of the educational and research processes, serving the community and developing the environment through consistent evaluation and feedback to all concerned divisions to gain the confidence of the stakeholders in the capabilities of Faculty graduates.

Strategic objectives of the Unit

• Evaluating the educational process through measuring the performance indicators of the inputs and outputs in the educational process (faculty - staff - students - graduates ... etc).
• Establishing databases and integrated files for programs and courses in all scientific degrees granted by the Faculty.
• Designing and developing models of questionnaires and providing the tools needed for the evaluation to achieve the mechanisms and standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance.
• Promoting the culture of quality, and awareness by the importance of implementing assessment programs among all the faculty and staff in all departments.
• Promoting the values of excellence and stimulating competitiveness in all disciplines of the Faculty to support the process of quality assurance and accreditation.
• Encouraging all scientific departments to participate in accreditation requirements.
• Supporting continuous improvement through giving guidance to those undertaking the various development activities each in its respective field to keep pace with the continuous change in quality levels.
• Establishing interchangeable relationships with the agencies and organizations of Quality Assurance and Accreditation at both regional and international levels to get accreditation.
• Preparing and following-up training programs that contribute to the implementation of the mechanisms for internal quality assurance and professional development of the faculty members.

Responsibilities of quality assurance and accreditation unit at the Faculty

The responsibilities of quality assurance and accreditation unit at the Faculty include the following:

• Collaboration with the University Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in order to assess the performance and ensure the quality of education at the Faculty in accordance with the philosophy of the National Authority of Quality Assurance and Accreditation.
• Application of the university's strategy regarding the quality of learning at the Faculty level, which includes the mission, vision, goals and objectives, and follow-up data coming from the University Centre for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in this regard.
• Creating an integrated information system to assess performance and ensure the quality of education and follow-up the performance assessment activities and ensure the quality of education at the faculty.
• Analyzing the results of performance assessment activities and ensure the quality of education at the Faculty and submit an annual report to the main center at the university.
• Providing guidelines and consulting services to the scientific and administrative departments at the Faculty regarding the quality assurance of education.
• Working with the Faculty vice Deans and faculty members at the scientific departmental and staff at the different administrative departments to prepare the Faculty for accreditation.
• Preparing the self-investigation according to criteria set by the National Authority of Quality Assurance and Accreditation and submitting it to Faculty Dean.
• Rehabilitating and providing technical support to internal reviewers to conduct the internal investigation.
• Broadcasting information within the Faculty and the community to establish the concepts of performance assessment and quality assurance.
