Department of Agricultural Botany
Agricultural botany department of is concerned with teaching undergraduate students in the field of basic science . Teaching plant morphology and plant taxonomy courses for the first year, plant physiology for the second year and special plant physiology for the third year of plant pathology and soil science students.
In the field of Postgraduate, teaching and training of many courses in the field of Agric. Botany for our Botany students and other students from varoius departments the Agric. College . For example, plant microtechnique, plant anatomy, plant ultrastructure, plant growth regulators, plant metabalism, plant reproduction , seed germination physiology , plant flowering physiology , plant and enviroment , weed science .
Research Activities
- The department is concerned with the follwing points:
- Growing plants under normal and extreme conditions ( salinity, drought, water logging air polutions )
- Plant Structure and ultrastructure under normal and extreme conditions.
- Various aspects of plant physiology under normal and extreme conditions.
- Plant compositions under normal and extreme conditions.
- Increasing effeciency of spraying chemical solutions on plant surface ( growth regulations, foliar fertilizes and herbscidies )
Advising and Consulting
In many ways, good advising is as imprtant as good teaching . Several sources of advising and consulting in the field of plant growth and releated problems are available to postgraduate students who are running their experiments in the field or pots also for productive farmers.
