Mission
The dietetic program is committed to prepare dietitians, who are capable of providing excellent service to meet the real needs of both national and regional markets. This is through learning based on problem solving, development of self learning skills and scientific research for community service and environment development.

Educational aims of the program are to:

  • Enable students to acquire a sound background in basic and applied sciences essential for understanding nutrition and dietetics. This is to develop their ability of integrating knowledge from contributing disciplines.
  • Develop student's understanding of the role of nutrition in health and disease. This is in addition to understanding the principles and application of dietary modification in the promotion of health and management of disease.
  • Enable students to develop their analytical and critical skills and their ability to understand and apply the principles of scientific research.
  • Develop student's ability to integrate theoretical and practical aspects of their studies.
  • Develop the key characteristics of a competent dietitian and commitment to professional behavior and continuous learning.

The advantages of dietetic program compared with other program

  • The dietetic program was developed based on the SWOT analysis, which identify the current strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
  • This program represents the only available nutritional program in colleges and institutes in the Delta region, which creates a competitive advantage for the faculty of agriculture, Mansoura university.
  • This program relies on modern concepts of nutrition known as molecular nutrition and its relationship with various human diseases.
  • The dietetic program provides unique courses, which are different from the other courses available in the current programs.
  • This program will enhance the medical background of students graduated from this program. This is through learning the fundamental medical courses (Anatomy, physiology-cell biology-biophysics –histology- pathology).
  • The graduates will develop their knowledge about the interrelationships between food and drugs. This is to help them in selecting the most suitable diets for each patient.
  • Many faculties from different disciplines will participate in this program (faculty of medicine, faculty of pharmacy, etc).
  • The graduates will have the opportunity of getting practical training in the hospitals and medical centers of Mansoura University.
  • English will be the primary language used in education and instruction throughout the program to meet the actual needs of both national and international markets.
  • The graduates of this program will be able to join to clinical nutrition diploma from the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism.
