FAO .. World Food Day Contest 2017

Large movements of people are presenting complex challenges, which call for global action. We want you to tell us how food security and rural development can change the future of migration.
There are two ways you can do this.Design a poster or produce a video on the World Food Day theme to enter the 2017 competition.

Poster Contest (Age 5- 19)

We’re calling on children and teens all over the world, from age 5 to 19, to use their imagination and create a poster that illustrates this year’s World Food Day theme. Young minds will be inspired by Lorenzo Terranera’s illustrations, which creatively interpret some of the underlying causes of migration, and actions that can be taken to allow people to stay at home, when it is safe to do so.

Video Contest (Age 13 -19)

Millions of people are being forced to flee their homes due to increased conflict and political instability. But did you know that hunger, poverty, and an increase in extreme weather events linked to climate change, also lead to migration? Can you suggest ways we can prevent people from feeling they have no choice but to flee their homes? If you’re aged 13 to 19, we want to see your ideas on the World Food Day theme. Produce a video no longer than 1 minute with your smartphone or tablet and tell us what you think.
