Hong Kong Studies Visiting Fellowship Programme
Hong Kong Studies Visiting Fellowship Programme to encourage non-local young scholars to conduct research on Hong Kong-related topics with a view to building a trans-regional Hong Kong Studies Research Community.
Targets: Non-local PhD students who are currently pursuing doctoral studies at non-local universities.
The Fellowship Programme will offer participants an opportunity to conduct no more than 2-month (June to August every year, the exact time period will be further discussed with successful applicants) visiting research in Hong Kong, which covers the following support:
- Free on-campus accommodation (single-person room)
- Access to office facilities in The Academy of Hong Kong Studies
- Access to library, computer and sports facilities at The Education University of Hong Kong
- Access to shuttle bus services eligible for students of The Education University of Hong Kong
Participants will be responsible for transport costs between Hong Kong and their original residence, local transport costs in Hong Kong, living and food expenses, travel and medical insurances, student visa application fee, etc.
During the fellowship all participants will be required to complete a Chinese or English academic paper (no less than 5,000 words and properly-referenced) and present it at the Hong Kong Studies Summer Workshop or other conference to be held in August every year; and after the presentation, the papers will be uploaded to Hong Kong Studies e-Working Papers Series for public information.
Applicant should be a non-Hong Kong resident, who is currently a registered PhD student at a non-local university. The applicants should possess a good command of spoken and written English and demonstrate outstanding capability in conducting independent research.
