Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program 2018/2019
The Fulbright Commission in Egypt is pleased to announce the annual competition for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program. This one-year Fellowship program is offered to young and mid-career professionals who have a proven track record of leadership, a public service commitment, and the capacity to benefit from a program of independent non-degree study at a leading U.S. university, as well as a wide variety of professional development activities, including conducting independent projects, participating in an internship or a professional affiliation, meetings and consultations with U.S. faculty or experts, field trips, and special seminars.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Egyptian citizenship; holders of U.S. green cards and/or passports are ineligible
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study.
- Five years of full-time professional experience. Applicants should be at a point in their careers to fully benefit from this professional development program. Demonstrated leadership qualities and a record of public service.
- Demonstrated English language ability with a minimum valid Local TOEFL score of 450 is required from AMIDEAST or any of the ETS approved centers (see below list of approved testing centers), or Computer-Based (CBT) score of 133, or Internet-based (IBT) score of 45 or IELTS score of 5. (Important note: Successful candidates whose TOEFL score is less than 525, or Computer-Based (CBT) score less than 195, or Internet-based (IBT) score less than 71 or IELTS score less than 6, will be required to attend 3 - 6 months of Long-Term English Language training in the U.S. prior to the start date of their Humphrey fellowships, if selected for this grant.)
- Limited prior experience in the U.S. (individuals who have resided in the U.S. for more than six months since August 2013 are not eligible to apply).
- Applicants must reside in Egypt starting the application process until the travel date (in case of selection).
- Qualified women are encouraged to apply.
