STDF Grant for demand-driven and national challenge projects

STDF’s demand-driven and national challenge projects (STDF-DDP& STDF-NCP) programs have been introduced to address all private and public sector needs in all area with the ultimate goal of enhancing the nation’s GDP and/or addressing socio-economic issues. Obviously, the call under consideration could well be regarded as an opportunity to build upon existing results, pilot studies, know-how and/or patents, to meet urgent national governmental (NCP) or private sector (DDP) needs via atop-down approach.

Although national priorities include all topics related to; Water, Energy, Health, Agro/Food and ICT, any proposal requested by a national private or public sector end user/beneficiary to enhance national GDP or address a national socio-economic problem will be assumed among the topmost priorities of STDF. Examples may include assisting a production establishment to:

  • Introduce a new product that is being currently imported
  • Improve a nationally produced product to pass and meet exportation norms thus generating foreign currency
  • Minimize production costs of a nationally produced product thus meeting challenges resulting from similar imported products at lower costs
  • ...etc.
