US-EGYPT GRANTS CYCLE XVII
The U.S. - Egypt Science and Technology (S&T) Joint Fund was established under an Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on Science and Technology Cooperation to strengthen scientific and technological capabilities between Egypt and the United States.
To support activities of the Joint Fund, each country jointly matches funds provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Ministry of Scientific Research (MOSR). The program is implemented in the U.S. by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) and in Egypt by the Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF).
RESEARCH AREAS
The Joint Board will consider Junior Scientist Development Visit applications or Collaborative Research Grant proposals from the following 5 priority fields of science in basic or applied research with developmental impact:
Agriculture - Energy including renewable - Water - Information and Communication Technology applications - Health
General Instructions
- RFAs (Call documents) of US-Egypt Grants can be downloaded directly (without registration) from STDF website, www.stdf.org.eg, following the appropriate links.
- To upload a proposal for the first time, registration is required. When registering, a user name and password (encrypted) are instantly generated and shown in the log in page. At the same time, the user name and password will also be sent via emails to the US and Egyptian PIs.
- To re-open the upload page for adding or editing any file at any other time logging in is required using the project user name and password.
- Please note that all uploaded files must be in pdf format.
- Applicants submitting more than one research proposal, whether as PI or co-PI, will have all of his submitted proposals disqualified (ineligible).
