Two Researchers from the Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University, Qualify for the Finals of the Agricultural Innovation Competition 2026
The organizing committee of the "Agricultural Innovation for Sustainable Development 2026" competition has announced the qualification of two researchers from the Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University, to the final stage of the competition, within the category of "Agriculture Faculty Students, Postgraduate Students, and Graduates," after successfully passing the scientific and technical evaluation stages in which competitors from various universities and research centers across the country participated.
The first qualifier, Eng. Nariman El-Sayed Mustafa, advanced with her research project titled: "Development of the Automatic Precise Seeding Unit (APSU) for Seed Planting Containers." She holds a Master's degree from the Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University, and is currently enrolled in a PhD program in the Agricultural Engineering Department, under the supervision of Prof. Zakaria Ibrahim Ismail, Assoc. Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Abu Habaga at the Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University, and Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed Okasha at the Agricultural Engineering Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center.
The second qualifier, Eng. Rahma Yasser El-Saeed, advanced with her research project titled: "Evaluation of Somaclonal Variation Among Somatic Lines Derived from Microtuber Production Technology in Potato under Saline Stress Conditions." She holds a Master's degree from the Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University, and is enrolled in a PhD program in the Genetics Department, under the supervision of Prof. Mamdouh Mohamed Abdel-Maqsoud, Prof. Rehab Mohamed Habiba at the Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University, and Dr. Iman Abdel-Moneim at the Faculty of Agriculture, Al-Azhar University.
The competition is held under the umbrella of the "Agricultural Innovation State" initiative, sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and in cooperation with a number of institutions and research bodies, including the Agricultural Research Center, the National Research Centre, the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications, and several faculties of agriculture at Egyptian universities.
This year's competition saw 180 contestants from various universities and research centers, from which the judging committees selected 35 finalists -individuals and research teams -with final results to be announced during the "Innovation from Idea to Application" conference, scheduled for July 2026 at the Olympic Village in Maadi.
