Faculty of Agriculture during the faculty’s golden jubilee
Prof. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, witnessed on October 31, 2023, the golden jubilee of the Faculty of Agriculture, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the faculty, under the slogan of “50 years of giving,” coinciding with the golden jubilee of the October victories.
In the presence of Prof. Mohammed Shata, Dean of the faculty and the former deans, Prof. Metwaly Abo Srea, Vice Dean of the faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Saleh Seadh, Vice Dean of the faculty for Education and Students, former Vice Deans, Major General Hisham Al-Hosary, Chairman of the Agriculture and Irrigation Committee in the Parliament , Prof. Amina Shalabi, Secretary of the National Council for Women in Dakahlia, Sheikh Sami Agour, representative of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Fr. Sidaros, representative of the church, and representatives of the Development Foundation in Dakahlia Governorate, faculty staff members, administratives and students.
Prof. Sherif Khater extended his greetings and appreciation to the scientists and faculty staff members, the first generation of the pioneers of this scientific institution, for their efforts and giving over the years to achieve the excellence of the faculty locally and internationally. The faculty has contributed to the advancement of the university’s international ranking, and the agricultural sciences sector has been classified as one of the best sectors, ranked from 75-100 worldwide, the faculty also has some of the most influential scientists in the world who have enriched scientific research over 50 years of excellence. Today, on the golden jubilee of the faculty, we honor the efforts of everyone who contributed to the establishment of the faculty and the development of scientific research in it. He added that the Faculty of Agriculture has a major role in global changes and developments in the coming period, as well as studying the impact of climate changes on agricultural products and crops, preserving, and increasing them, affecting livestock, and reaching applied scientific research that works to reduce the risks of climate change.
Prof. Salah Abdel Latif gave a speech on behalf of the first batch of faculty graduates, during which he expressed his great pride in belonging to this great scientific institution, Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University, noting that the golden jubilee of the faculty is a day of great fulfillment for everyone who contributed and made an effort towards establishing and developing it, he added that the university’s establishment by its founder, the late Prof. Ibrahim Abu Al-Naga, then Prof. Abdel Moneim Al-Badrawi indicates sincerity and dedication to work and the succession of generations to develop the university and reach this excellence locally and internationally. He also called on the young faculty staff members to do more scientific research to contribute to achieving progress for our beloved Egypt.
Prof. Mohammed Shata also extended his greetings and appreciation to the professors and faculty members who founded the faculty and who contributed to building this scientific institution, which we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of its establishment, noting that the study began at the faculty with Presidential Decree No. 542 in 1973-1974, and the golden jubilee of the faculty came to express the efforts of successive generations.
Prof. Metwaly Abo Srea said that the Faculty of Agriculture developed by the efforts of the first generation of pioneers and faculty members, who gave of their experience and hard work to obtain a distinguished and prestigious position in the fields of education, scientific research, community service, and the constant pursuit of excellence and quality.
The celebration concluded by honoring the faculty staff members, the pioneers of the faculty, and those who held academic and administrative positions.
