The Training Unit held the "Nutrition for Cancer Patients" training program on Saturday, 14/4/2018.

Instructor: Dr. Mohamed Samir Darwish, Assistant Professor, Department of Dairy, and Director of the Dietetic Program.

The training program aims to develop the knowledge and skills of trainees as follows:

- Differences between normal cells and carcinogens.
- Differences between benign tumors and malignancies.
- Causes of cancer.
- The stages of cancer development.
- The metabolism, nutrients and energy required for cancer patients.
- Anti-cancer diets.
- Nutrition during chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
- The role of nutrition support in the early stages and advanced stages of cancer patients.
